Hortus artium medievalium
Hortus artium medievalium is a scientific journal published regularly since 1995. It brings primarily papers and articles delivered at the IRC for Late Antiquity and Middle Ages’ annual symposiums, but also reports from current archaeological excavations, results of conducted research and conservatory works on monuments from Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages in Croatia as well as reviews of newer publications from Europe and the rest of the world. The journal is indexed in many European and world databases of scientific journals and papers published in it are reviewed by the committee of international reviewers made up of some of the most renowned European experts for the Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages. The texts included in the journal are published in one of five world languages (English, French, German, Italian and Spanish), with summaries in Croatian.
Dissertationes et monographiae
With the publication of A. Terry’s and F. Gilmore Eaves’s book on the history of research of the Poreč cathedral complex in 2001 the International Research Centre for Late Antiquity and Middle Ages started a new series of publications entitled Dissertationes et monographiae. A large number of art historians, archaeologists, historians, philosophers, church historians and liturgists from Europe and the rest of the world who gather at the Centre’s annual symposiums in Motovun have, among other things, showed interest in expanding their knowledge of older Croatian cultural heritage. Discussions among the colleagues, especially within the Centre’s Council (the members of the Council are: A. Erlande-Brandenburg, N. Duval, I. Fisković, N. Jakšić, M. Jurković, G. Ripoll-Lopez, J. Zovko, F. Zuliani) emphasized the need for the publication of monographic studies that would primarily deal with the archaeologically researched monuments (first and foremost, but not exclusively, from Croatia), but also theoretical studies dealing with the issues that arose during annual symposiums.
